The Sunshine Coast covers a large area stretching over 50km north of Brisbane. It is difficult to navigate as the attractions are spread out across the coast. However, generally when people talk about the Sunshine Coast, they are more than likely talking about Noosa. Noosa is at the northern tip of the Sunshine Coast and it has earned a name for itself as a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. It has lovely beaches, canals and like most beach towns, a very relaxed and happy atmosphere.
You will start the day here with Breakfast overlooking one of Queensland’s best beaches. The waves here tend to be a little bit more gentle than those you may get on the Gold Coast, so it makes it a popular destination to learn to surf or go for a swim. After breakfast you may want to do just that! At Noosa once you leave the beach, Hasting Street is the first street you arrive at. This street is well known for its excellent selection of restaurants, boutique shops and luxury accommodation. If you book one of our recommended accommodations, you will be situated right on Hasting Street, so you will be able to start the day at your own leisure, making the most of the beaches, cafes and shops.
After the morning swim, your guide can show you a bit more of the coastline with a guided walk through Noosa National Park. This walk has five main lookouts such as Hell’s Gates and Dolphin Point lookouts. During your walk it’s possible to see wild koalas and as one of the aforementioned lookout names suggests you may be able to see some dolphins closeby to shore. This walk can be quite long (although you can modify the length) so an alternative to this is to climb Mount Coolum. Mount Coolum is the second largest rock in the world, and offers fantastic views of both the Sunshine Coast hinterland and the Pacific Ocean.
Depending on which walk you choose, we may have time to go see one of the quaint inland towns that usually only the locals get to visit. On this tour we will be visiting Montville which offers fantastic views of the beautiful Queensland hinterland. This can be a good substitute for the Mount Coolum walk, if you still want a nice view without the hike.
Next we will start our scenic journey to Brisbane, where we will transfer you to your new hotel. At night it’s time for dinner with a show! Spirits of the Red Sand is an Aboriginal experience that will have you journey back in time to 1800’s Queensland as the British and Aboriginal ways of life collide. A masterpiece of authentic Aboriginal storytelling, this live theatre performance will immerse you in an unforgettable story of three Aboriginal brothers and their families. The evening experience includes a delicious three-course dinner and will allow you to experience the traditional song, dance, culture and community of the indigenous people.
After your unforgettable night, we will top it all off by stopping at Mount Gravatt Lookout. The lookout offers views of the sparkling city and the nightly light displays of Brisbane’s iconic buildings and bridges.
On this culinary excursion we can start with a light breakfast at one of Brisbane’s many cafes. Australia is known for its exceptional coffee and cafe culture, with Brisbane being no exception. Afterwards let your guide show you a bit of the popular suburbs or a guided tour in the city. We could also take you to popular shopping locations, or take a look at what’s on offer in Brisbane and see what other activities you could add to this sample trip.
We had a light breakfast for a reason, now’s the time to explore the city on the river. This adventure will take you on a three-story paddle boat for a lunchtime cruise. Coupled with informative information about Brisbane and live entertainment, this is arguably the best way to explore and learn about Brisbane. Utilise the open air top deck to get some beautiful photographs of the city and of yourselves!
After lunch your guide will whisk you away to The Gold Coast for your new 5-star hotel experience. Spend the afternoon paddleboarding, surfing or sunbaking on the best beaches Australia has to offer. Alternatively relax in your hotel with unbeatable views of the Pacific Ocean until it’s time for dinner.
For dinner it’s time for another dinner and show, this time you embark on a journey to the heartland of Australia, the outback. Utilising a transformative arena and highly trained horses, immerse yourself in the story of two struggling ‘Aussie’ farmers. This show gives you a glimpse of the life of outback farmers and the struggles they deal with in an extremely compelling night of theatre. Throughout the show you will be served a delightful three-course meal.
If you would prefer something with a bit more risqué comedy, another dinner and show option is Dracula’s, an equally excellent option but not as kid friendly.
Start the day bright and early by getting a bit adventurous. Only a short distance from The Gold Coast is Mount Tamborine. Start the day and get the blood pumping by completing seven extreme ziplines over the jaw-dropping rainforests that call Mount Tamborine home. These scenic flights across the rainforests canopy are a fun activity with the bonus of great views. If you would prefer something more slow paced a canopy walk is an alternative option, where you get the great views and can spot the unique native birds
Afterwards your guide will take you for some guided walks allowing you to explore the area and all its glory in more detail. There are also glow worm caves and natural rock pools which are definitely worth exploring while you are here.
Follow this with lunch at a local winery where you can relax and try some local wines with lunch. Remember we’re driving!
In the afternoon your guide will take you back to The Gold Coast, you can use this time to make use of your self-guided walk material that is provided in your complimentary welcome pack. Alternatively, we can organise a city and river cruise where you can see the best of the Gold Coast by land and water. Kick back and relax as you cruise through the beautiful waterways, canals and past the homes of the rich and famous. With running commentary these tours provide a relaxing and leisurely way to explore the area at great value.
At night a street-food experience is in order, similar to The Eat Street in Brisbane this is a highly popular activity for the locals. Vendors from all over come to show you the best of what they have to offer right in the heart of The Gold Coast. Marketta Street Food is a laneway dining experience, where you can get a bit of everything, whether it’s an entree from Spain, your main meal from Thailand or dessert from France. This lively venue is packed with people, live music and a great atmosphere.
Once you are finished here your guide can take you back to your accommodation or more than likely, you are probably ready to continue your night, so your guide can point you in the right direction!
Departure day! Depending on how much time you have there’s still plenty you could add into Your Trip. If you haven’t already, take a look at what else is on offer in the Gold Coast, and see what you could fit in on your last day.
For this trip we assume you are departing in the late afternoon. So with the morning to pack and get ready for your flight, at midday we will take you on a short trip just across the border to New South Wales. Here you will do a distillery tour followed by a lovely lunch at Husk Farm Distillery. A relatively new addition to the area, Husk Farm Distillery has been a huge hit with the locals, offering fantastic lunches and cocktails on their beautiful farm. Husk Distillery specialise in rum and gin and if you’re a fan of either spirit, trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
Once finished, with a bottle in hand, your guide will take you to the airport you are departing from.
Think you need longer to explore everything? No problem, construct your own itinerary with help from your personal guide with a tour length that suits you.
